This picture really said something to me. What it was exactly, I’m not sure, but it’s strange to figure out exactly what’s going on in this picture. Is it a man climbing a mountain? Is it taken from a Alaskan sledding competition? Is this man part of the Russian Spetsnaz? Turns out this man is simply waiting for a bus in Novy Urengoy, in temperatures of around 40 degrees below zero Fahrenheit. It’s scary to think that this man is doing something as simple as waiting for a bus in such temperatures, and it makes me think twice before I complain about how cold it is outside

It’s stuff like this that scares me.This articles delves into how unprepared we really are against certain threats to the country, including biological attack, epidemic diseases, and other massive disaster that could tear this country apart. It looks like we still have a lot of ground to cover before we say we could handle national disaster. More details in the link
Toronto’s teeniest house back on the market | Lifestyle | Living | Reuters
When I first saw this picture I didn’t beleive it, but yes that is a real house and it is on the market in Canada. The house boasts a fold out bed, a kitchen with folding tables and chairs, and even a storage basement. It was built when city contractors forgot to cut curb for a lane-way. One of the contractors built a house there and lived in it for 20 years. I think it’s amazing how people can save space when they put their mind to it, but it also makes me think of what “the house” will become like in the future when we begin to run out of space for homes like the two next to the little house in the picture. I thought this story interesting because of how even the most innocent things in our culture are still vulnerable to physical attack by less innocent people in this world.
